Do Animals Have Souls Got Questions

All living humans and animals have a soul although it isnt what most people think it means.

Do animals have souls got questions. It bothers me that certain Christiansdenominations dont believe that the animals that have lived here on Earth will go to heaven because they dont have a soul. Some people say animals have a spirit but not a soul some say they have a soul but not a spirit. Genesis 27 footnote A soul is composed of two things.

As one dies so dies the other. During a recent public appearance Pope Francis comforted a boy whose dog had just died saying One day we will see our animals again in eternity. The soul is the principle of life.

First animals have a body. Obviously being an animal they dont have a human soulthey dont need one. Animals did not have souls and therefore did not have any moral rights.

Our souls are rationaltheirs arentand ours are rational because theyre spiritual not material. 321 KJV It is clear that God does care for the animals. The Bible does not give a definitive answer to the question of whether we will see our pets in heaven but it does say With God all things are possible.

While theologians may be stubborn in classifying animals souls as inferior to those of humans those learned scholars must admit that descriptions of heaven in the Bible are sketchy at best. The Bible does not clearly state whether we will see our pets again in heaven but Scriptures suggests the presence of animals in heaven. Maybe God gave animals a special soula free pass to Heavenwhy not.
